My head used to be a nightmare. It was full of stuff that made me feel bad. All day it would tell me that I wasn’t good enough, that I couldn’t do it, that I would feel better when . . .


Tired of this incessant mental chatter—that was driving me bonkers—I sought relief and dove into meditation and mindfulness.


Training to be an AMOT (A Master of Thought) began!


Much to my sort-of-surreal surprise, I dropped out of my head and into my heart. I connected to my IGS, my deepest self, and felt a deep sense of peace. It was a peace filled with joy and love, and I came to know that this was who I AM. This was my True Self. My True Nature.


I write to share my story, so that others may find the same.

I write for children and teens because I know them well. For twenty plus years I have taught drama to children internationally. I have worked in Canada, England, Signapore and Spain, and loved every single minute. My students have been my teachers too, and if any of you are reading this then hello! How are you? Whatever and Iggy Wiggy and her IGS are written from my heart to yours.


As supporter of the Mindfulness Movement, especially Mindfulness-in-Education, I am thrilled to see self-awareness being taught within the school system. Mindfulness is the practice of living in the moment and mastering our thoughts—as well as their accompanying emotions—by going within. Beneath the chatter and clutter lies the peace, joy wisdom of our True Selves. There are clear links between this technique and my stories, and as a new subject in schools there is an opportunity to offer creative material to support it. Drum roll . . . Whatever . . . and  . . . slowly but surely . . . Iggy Wiggy!
